How to heal a broken heart with Feng Shui

Heartbreak can hold you back! That palpable pain in the pit of your stomach and the constant ‘why’ has you question all your decisions, diminishes your self-confidence and affects every other aspect of your life.

It’s irrelevant whether you’ve split from a long marriage or you’ve lost your first love – you can heal.

Whether you’re 20 or 65, life can still go on and not only be meaningful, but better and brighter than before. All of this can happen when you take action to heal your broken heart –don’t wait for ‘time’ to do the work.

Eleven years ago I was called in on a feng shui consultation. My beautiful client was incredibly open and honest with me as she recounted her error in judgement in leaving her husband of many years and whilst he had moved on in the ensuing 5 years and remarried she had not been able to do the same. You see, she left him because there was a missing in her that she attributed to the marriage rather than where it lay – within her.

Obviously reconciliation was off the agenda so we put the focus on creating a new, loving and fulfilling relationship.

We made some changes to the entire home she had recently purchased with the focus being on her bedroom. These changes included;
• improved location of the bed
• introducing colours that supported the room and her personal requirements
• adding some symbolic measures such as artefacts significant in drawing love to her.

However, it was not going to be easy. You see, not only was her bedroom not conducive to establishing a meaningful love in her life but she was also in a time where destiny made it difficult for her to do so. A double whammy!! So…together we formulated a plan of action for her to be able to move forward in this all important area of life.

Firstly, she needed and wanted to purchase a home that was conducive to attracting a long standing relationship and have the timing coincide with her destiny – she only had a couple of years to do this. In the interim we made the aforementioned changes (which resulted in a relationship but not one she saw as long term). Importantly however we boosted her money luck so she could afford an alternative living environment as timing was of the essence.

In the meantime we also addressed relevant issues to healing her broken heart. The most obvious being her feelings of emptiness and her own lack of fulfilment in life.

Secondly we worked on her ‘selection criteria’. As a society, we give more thought to finding a job or budgeting income or the next toy to buy than we do to the question of ‘what kind of person do I want or need for a long term relationship’. All too often we just go with the chemistry. Whilst this is an important part of a loving relationship we also must give great consideration to the characteristics we need in another human being.

With these two areas handled and a new home the timing was perfect. The next step was for her to be actively engaged in her pursuit of a relationship – in most cases it just doesn’t come knocking on the door. So being more social during these times and in particular selected months was vital.

To her credit she stepped outside her comfort zone, made all the tough decisions and within months attained the ‘right’ relationship. She has now been happily married for more than seven years.
